Bette Davis was one of the most famous and talented actresses of Hollywood’s golden age. Born in 1908, she had a long and illustrious career that spanned over 50 years.

She burst onto the silver screen in the 1930s, quickly making a name for herself with her strong personality, piercing eyes, and undeniable talent. Some of Bette’s most iconic films include Jezebel, All About Eve, and What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. In these movies, she delivered some of the most memorable performances in cinema history, earning herself two Academy Awards for Best Actress. 

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, directed by Robert Aldrich, is a vintage piece of horror that went on to become a critical and commercial hit. Davis earned her tenth and final Academy Award nomination for her role in the movie.

The film capitalized on the grotesque and the glamorous. Playing opposite her longtime rival, Joan Crawford, Davis embraced the role of Baby Jane Hudson, an unhinged former child star whose descent into madness and jealousy towards her sister leads to a tragic confrontation. As the film unfolds, we see Jane clinging desperately to her faded glory.

Bette Davis reinvents herself

At 54, Davis was playing a character who was supposed to be much older. Baby Jane was a washed-up, delusional old woman, complete with caked-on makeup, frilly dresses, and a face that looked like it had seen better days. But that’s the magic of Bette Davis – she completely embodied the character, bringing a sense of pathos and desperation to the role that made it impossible to look away.

The film was a bit of a gamble for Davis. At the time, she and Crawford were considered “old Hollywood” and their careers were on the decline. However, the film’s success proved that Bette could now establish herself in the horror genre. In fact, she did exactly that by taking on some other intense roles in movies like Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964) and The Nanny (1965). 

Bette continued acting in films, television, and theater until the late 1980s. She had a few flops, and a few projects that didn’t quite live up to expectations. But that never stopped her from giving it her all. One of her last, really memorable roles was in the 1987 movie The Whales of August, where she starred opposite another Hollywood legend, Lillian Gish. Bette was in her late 70s at the time.

She kept working right up until the very end. Her last film appearance was in the 1989 movie Wicked Stepmother (comedy/horror), where she played – you guessed it – a wicked stepmother. Sadly, Bette passed away later that year at the age of 81. 

Her legacy still lives on as she has not only challenged Hollywood’s norms but also set a new standard for character portrayal that actors of all ages could aspire to.

Abby Lee Miller has been a prominent figure in the world of competitive dance for decades. But what happens when the cameras stop rolling and the dance studio lights dim? As it turns out, Abby Lee’s off-screen life has been just as eventful as her time on the show.

Miller’s reputation as a tough-as-nails teacher and choreographer was cemented through her appearances on Dance Moms, where she coached aspiring dancers, including the now-celebrity JoJo Siwa. The show, which ran for eight seasons, showcased Miller’s strict (sometimes openly disliked) teaching methods and her unwavering dedication to pushing her students to their limits. Despite the hardships she has endured, Miller’s passion for dance remains undiminished. In a reunion special for Dance Moms, many of her former students, including JoJo Siwa and Chloé Lukasiak, gathered to reflect on their experiences. While Miller was notably absent from the event, with some cast members reportedly refusing to participate if she were involved, her impact on the lives of her students is undeniable. JoJo Siwa, in particular, has spoken openly about her close relationship with Miller, mentioning that they communicate weekly and that she considers Miller a significant figure in her life (via People).

Remember the days when a single post from an Avenger could break the internet? Well, Chris Pratt just took us on a nostalgia-fueled trip down MCU memory lane with his latest “illegal” behind-the-scenes video.

From the looks of it, the BTS clip is from the final battle scene in Avengers: Endgame. Judging from Chris Evans’ fake shock at noticing Pratt making the video and the fact that the studio kept the film’s production under tight wraps to protect it from those sniffing around for leaks, it is easy to deduce why it used to be “illegal.”

The video is a who’s who of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ve got Dave Bautista (Drax), Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda), Chris Hemsworth (who seems to be battling an invisible swarm of flies), and even a rare sighting of Chris Evans (Captain America) channeling his inner SpongeBob SquarePants. Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) appears deep in thought, script in hand, while Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), and other casts make brief but impactful appearances. The presence of Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), seemingly bored and chewing on something, adds a touch of humor to the scene.

But amidst the laughter and camaraderie, there’s a sense of bittersweetness that permeates the comments section. 

Fans have spotted Chadwick Boseman, forever our Black Panther, trying to hide his face from the camera. It strikes a chord, knowing now what we didn’t know then – that Boseman was silently battling cancer even as he suited up to save the universe.

Furthermore, if Pratt’s video is a reminder of Marvel’s glory days, it’s also a stark contrast to the company’s current state which is a mess of mediocre movies and Disney Plus shows. It’s no secret that the MCU has been struggling to recapture the magic of its early phases, with a string of lackluster releases and a growing sense of superhero fatigue among audiences. Now we have Deadpool & Wolverine hanging tight to the expectation that it will revive the currently comatose MCU with the aid of Wade Wilson’s proper Marvel initiation and Wolverine’s return.

But for every hit, there seems to be a massive miss (we’re looking at you, Eternals). When your big climactic battle scene involves a bunch of CGI monsters that look like they escaped from a PlayStation 2 game, you know you’ve got problems.

Perhaps the most telling moment in the video comes from Sean Gunn’s Rocket stand-in, who quips, “I’m pretty sure I’m the most famous person here.” It’s a joke, of course, but it also says a lot about the star power the franchise is steadily losing. These were the biggest names in Hollywood, all gathered together for a common purpose. And now? Well, let’s just say the fandom would trade their souls to erase Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and M.O.D.O.K.’s minion buttocks from existence.

The MCU has become so focused on expanding its universe that it’s forgotten what made it special in the first place– the characters, the heart, and the well-written plots that left us wanting more.

That’s what makes Pratt’s video so special. It reminds us of a time when the MCU was more than just a franchise — it was a family. A dysfunctional, quippy, occasionally problematic family, sure, but a family nonetheless. And in a world where every new release feels like a calculated attempt to set up the next big thing, it’s refreshing to see these actors just being themselves.

So thank you, Chris Pratt, for this blast from the past. Maybe this video will be the wake-up call that Kevin Feige and co. need to get back to basics and remember what made us fall in love with these characters in the first place.

Tom Holland and Zendaya are one of the hottest power couples in Hollywood. And, for the joy of their fans, they may take the next step in their relationship and tie the knot sooner rather than later.

Holland made his silver screen debut with 2011’s disaster movie The Impossible. However, he became famous worldwide after appearing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. With five other MCU movies on his portfolio, Holland has already weaved a web of fame and success for himself. The star has also been diversifying his acting portfolio in recent years with critically acclaimed movies such as Onward, The Devil All the Time, and Cheery.

Holland met Zendaya while shooting Spider-Man: Homecoming, where she played the role of Peter’s high school colleague and romantic interest, MJ. She was already used to being recognized everywhere she went before the MCU due to her prolific career as a model, actress, and singer. Still, joining the buzziest Disney franchise did help her land parts in major box-office successes such as Denis Villeneuve’s Dune and Dune: Part Two. She has also scored a leading role in Challengers, arguably the best movie of beloved director Luca Guadagnino.

Curiously, a Spider-Man project led to Holland and Zendaya’s relationship, which also happened with the lead actors behind previous live-action iterations of Peter Parker and their romantic interest. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone eventually split up, following the fate of Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. However, it seems that the third time is the charm, as Holland and Zendaya are reportedly discussing marriage.

Tom Holland and Zendaya’s busy schedules might delay their marriage

As People reports, Zendaya and Holland have been talking about marriage. But, since their professional lives are so important to the couple, they are taking things slow and planning the next steps carefully. That doesn’t mean they are not committed to each other, though. While Holland and Zenday prefer to keep their private lives away from the public eye, their public appearances do underline the fat that they are extremely happy together. Still, it might be just a matter of time before their schedules align and Peter Parker marries MJ.

Their fictional reunion might happen first as Holland and Zendaya are seemingly set to return to the MCU together. After the billionaire success of the latest Spider-Man trilogy, Sony and Marvel Studios are working to bring Holland’s Web Head back into the MCU. The latest rumors even tease Holland has already signed a contract for six more MCU movies. If that’s officially confirmed by Marvel Studios, Zendaya is also most likely to return as MJ. Who knows? Maybe the heartbreaking ending of No Way Home will not stick around for long, allowing Peter and MJ to get their happy ending and vanish into the sunset in the MCU.

And maybe, just maybe, the silver screen triumph of love over the ever-chaotic multiversal shenanigans will also convince Holland and Zendaya to walk the aisle and say “I do” in the real world.

Yes, members of the Royal Family are bound to attract rumors and speculations, but the palace has made King Charles a big target for gossip by not sharing any updates about the Monarch of England. One can brush off the revelation that British newsrooms are actively updating his obituary, but how should one react when the government itself starts exhibiting ominous signs?

Is King Charles’ health deteriorating and rapidly going downhill? Is the palace just pretending everything is fine but the situation is far more dire than they are letting on?

In a concerning report by Daily Beast, an old friend of the family — who also revealed that the late Queen was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer before biographer Gyles Brandreth confirmed the same in Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait — has shared that Charles is “really very unwell.” 

“More than they are letting on.”

What makes this update even more concerning is the fact that “multiple sources” have also disclosed to the outlet that officials of the British government are regularly reviewing copies of the “Operation Menai Bridge” — a code word for King Charles’ funeral plans that includes hundreds of pages. In fact, it is being compared to how seamlessly and smoothly the Queen’s funeral went and notes are being made on what went right as well as everything that would need improvement for Charles’ funeral.

Is it time to get really worried about Charles’ health and whether or not he will make it?

As far as the government officials responsible for updating the said funeral plans, you should not look too much into it as “serious planning for Charles’ funeral began the day after they buried the queen.”

As for the careful assessment of Menai Bridge, it is supposedly a routine and the officials remain on top of it to both achieve the “high bar” set by the Queen’s funeral and to be prepared in advance since planning for a ceremony of such scale involves everything from getting the seven regiments of Guards ready to ensure the Air Force is ready to join without a hiccup to setting up a “giant security operation because every VVIP on the planet” would be in attendance.

According to the official, such massive planning can’t be done at a moment’s notice and needs to be “meticulously planned in advance.”

Amid the brewing concerns, the palace has also made an official statement on April 26, confirming that Charles will soon “return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis.” He will start by visiting a cancer treatment center in the coming week and will be accompanied by Queen Camilla. 

While the palace didn’t say it in exact words, adding that the visit would be the “first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead” does convey that Charles is well enough to plan his upcoming schedule in advance and engage in tasks that will involve his public presence.

Princess Leia was hot. I mean, literally. That was her problem while filming one particular scene in The Empire Strikes Back, as she briefly explained, in a resurfaced interview, that the heat in the room on-set was a bit too much.

Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill appeared on the BBC show Blue Peter after Empire was released. For those unaware outside of the U.K., Blue Peter is still on the air and, in fact, is the longest- running children’s show in the world, having begun its run in 1958 when Star Wars wasn’t even a thought in the mind of George Lucas.

While Mark Hamill was busy petting a cat, Fisher was answering questions while playing with a turtle, and a dog sat between them. Personally, I thought it would’ve been more fun to see Fisher play with Salacious Crumb, but who am I to question the strange happenings on Blue Peter?

With turtle in-hand, Fisher was asked what scene what was the hardest part of Empire for her to shoot. She didn’t hesitate to answer.

”I think probably the carbon-freezing chamber,” she replied. “It says freezing but it was actually very hot. It was about a hundred degrees.”

Han Solo must’ve been secretly happy to be frozen in carbonite as Leia froze her buns off. Meanwhile, what was Peter Mayhew going through inside that already hot Chewbacca outfit?

Well, Fisher did bring up Chewbacca, as she explained that in the noted scene she embraces Chewbacca, and after numerous takes of doing that over and over again, things got hot between the two of them. Not romantically, that would be weird, rather the temperature was too much.

“After about two hours in a lot of heat like that,” Fisher said of being hugged by Chewbacca, “He doesn’t smell so nice.”

Perhaps they should’ve borrowed a line from the previous film when, in the garbage compactor scene, Han Solo tells Chewie, “What an incredible smell you’ve discovered!”

This might be the only scene in which Fisher wishes she actually was in her outfit from Jabba’s Palace in the Return of the Jedi. Instead, she was stuck in a sauna with Chewbacca while explaining her predicament to a turtle.

Before the Fisher and Hamill segment on Blue Peter ended, they present the movie stars with something called “Star Wars Stew.” It’s a kid’s recipe, and is a mix of a lot of things, including sausages, baked beans, onions, tomatoes, sweet corn, chips, potatoes, and — because it’s not enough stuff — cheese. Fisher and Hamill happily engage in the feast, though Hamill can be seen feeding it to the dog. The segment is quite a chuckle-jerker.

Chewbacca can be seen at the end but misses a golden opportunity to embrace Fisher. He walks in with Darth Vader and the droids, making kids wonder why the villain is hanging out with the heroes.

Noticeably missing is Han Solo, though it’s likely because he was stuck in Jabba’s Palace.

Rachael Ray is not just another TV personality who made things easier for us in the kitchen; she became a piece of pop culture. Her show; simply titled after her name, lasted 17 wonderful seasons. Many of her fans now wonder what she has planned as she becomes one of the first faces of lifestyle and food culture in America.

The Rachael Ray Show now airs in syndication, so check your local listings if you would like to go back and revisit 17 years of the daytime talk show that blended itself with her talents in the kitchen. However, for most of 2023, Ray enjoyed much-deserved time away from the camera. It seems that although Rachael Ray is not on television screens Monday through Friday for her daytime talk show, she is still making her presence felt in the world of streaming and behind the scenes for the greater good. Yeah, maybe other chefs who turned into celebrities like Anthony Bourdain took shots at her from time to time, but in the end, she’s just tried to maintain a positive impact on society.

What happened between Quavo and Chris Brown?

Much like other high-profile rap battles — including the recent music shots between Drake, Future, and Kendrick Lamar — the beef between Quavo and Chris Brown has been building for years now — with most convinced that the drama started over actress Karrueche Tran, who both men have supposedly dated in the past.

Over the last few days, social media has been swarmed with reactions to both disses — although it’s clear that folks are heavily favoring Brown’s “Weakest Link” diss as opposed to Quavo’s recent “Over Hoes & B*tches” diss. In CB’s jaw-dropping diss, the multi-talented artist referenced the passing of Migos member Takeoff, insisting that people wished Quavo had died instead of Takeoff. In addition, Brown claimed that Quavo is the worst member of Migos and made references to sleeping with Quavo’s ex,  Saweetie, while he was still with her.

In response to CB’s earth-shattering diss, Quavo made several references about Brown’s history of domestic violence — especially in regards to a specific incident back in 2009 between Brown and then-girlfriend Rihanna. And while neither man is picture-perfect in regards to past mistakes, it’s clear that netizens on the internet are already picking sides and waiting to see if this beef will go any further between the two artists.

It’s been a very busy twenty-four hours since the news broke about the New York Court of Appeals overturning the conviction of sex crimes committed by Harvey Weinstein. The former film producer saw his downfall come from the #MeToo movement, and was eventually sentenced to 23 years in prison for first-degree criminal sexual acts and third-degree rape.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced that the case will head back to the courtroom. However, there seems to be a slim chance of Weinstein ever getting out of jail, as he still must serve a 16-year sentence in Los Angeles for similar sexual assault charges.

Weinstein now currently resides in the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome, New York, after a few years of being in custody in California. The facility is a medium-security-level facility for men. It’s a building that holds 1100 people and was established in 1988. Weinstein will stay there until he is taken to a Manhattan court where a new trial will take place for all that he was convicted of in the state of New York.

Harvey Weinstein’s downfall from one of the most powerful men in Hollywood to an exiled member of society for his atrocious acts of sexual assault has been in the news for over half a decade now. Thursday’s ruling has inflicted disappointing feelings among many people across the country, as they feel the justice system may be on the verge of letting down the American people, specifically victims of sexual assault, once again.

Allegations against Weinstein that then turned into convictions are what put the #MeToo movement at the forefront of people’s minds, thus spreading into other public outcries for other powerful men who deserved to be tried for their wrongdoings in the past.

When the news broke about Harvey Weinstein it kickstarted a whole movement; with so many women speaking up against the movie mogul the facts seemed obvious; Harvey was given a lengthy sentence for rape, and that was supposed to be the end of it.

Yesterday, news broke that Weinstein’s New York conviction had been overturned and that he would face another trial. The reasons for this related to witness testimonies that were not related to the conviction at hand. Either way, the notorious producer will be dragging his victims to court to relive their trauma once more.

Weinstein actually has two convictions; the first one was for the sexual assault of a former assistant, which he was found guilty of by a Manhattan court and give a 23 year sentence. The second was a little more recent, he was found guilty of a separate instance of sexual assault against an actress in Los Angeles in 2013, for that he was sentenced to 16 years in prison. This means that up until recently, he was serving two sentences for assault. 

So how long has Harvey Weinstsein been in jail?

The first time he was found guilty by the Manhattan court was in February 2020. That means the 72 year old has served a total of four years and two months behind bars, and would have had a little under 19 years to go. Right now he’ll still have to serve his other sentence in California, which was handed to him in February 2023, although his lawyers have indicated that they intend to have that conviction overturned as well.

This doesn’t mean that Harvey Weinstein is free, it just means that there will be yet another trial, possibly two if the California one is really overturned. He could, and hopefully will, be found guilty again and be made to serve the rest of his time in prison, because four years is not nearly enough time for all the harm this man has caused.

That, paired with his presence as the reunion host for the Real Housewives franchise, has kept Cohen fans clued into his life for coming up to two decades.

Despite his high profile, there are certain details that Cohen prefers to keep under the radar. While he’s been open with fans about his journey to fatherhood, there are still a good number of viewers who were unaware that Cohen has kids. This is likely due to his consistently single status, which, over the years, led some fans to assume that Cohen was child-free.

Cohen isn’t necessarily single by choice, but he’s also not desperate to be in a relationship. The 55-year-oldWatch What Happens Live! host peruses dating apps from time to time, but these days he’s too busy raising little ones to focus too much on his romantic life.

Cohen has two children, born by surrogate. While both of his kids were born of different surrogates, Cohen says they’re “biological siblings.” The first new addition to his little family, Benjamin, came about in Feb. 2019, and his second, Lucy, followed three years later in April 2022.

While he’s busy living a high-profile life, Cohen is also working hard to keep his kids out of the spotlight. He’s shared occasional posts featuring little Ben and Lucy on social media, but they’re not frequent fliers on his public postings — or at least, their faces aren’t. While he doesn’t mind sharing snapshots of his children’s backs or covered faces, Cohen avoids showing too much of his kids to the world.

He pointed out, while talking to Today, that, while they’re inextricably tied to his fame, his children did not choose the spotlight. “People need to understand that my kids are not me and they didn’t sign up for this,” he said. Apparently, his mother has some harsh opinions on showing off her grandkids as well, as — according to Cohen — she informed him that he “can’t show Ben anymore,” and even asked when he would “stop showing Lucy.”

Now that they’re inching out of infant territory and into toddlerdom, it seems Cohen is set on avoiding sharing too much of his family life with the outside world. He still clues viewers into snippets of his happy family, but don’t expect to see more than a glimpse of little Ben or Lucy as they grow up.
